Creighton Peden Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2012 by Hubert C. Normile, Jr. in honor of the founding president of IARPT, formerly known as the Highlands Institute for American Religious and Philosophical Thought.

Purpose

This scholarship facilitates attendance, at the IARPT annual meeting, of new scholars whose research interests and scholarly potential make them possible candidates for IARPT membership and for whom cost might be an obstacle.

Depending on the availability of funds, the scholarship may cover conference registration and some additional expenses.

Application Procedures

Cognizant of the broadly liberal and progressive philosophical orientations of IARPT, the applicant should send to the IARPT secretary a copy of his/her/their CV with a brief cover letter describing their potential for membership and their contribution to the annual meeting for which they are seeking funding. The applicant should also supply some description of her/his/their financial need.

The submission deadline is usually April 15 or thereabouts each year. Recipients of scholarships will be notified as quickly as possible after review by the executive board.
